I want to give credit to Dr. Kenny McComas of Rittman, OH for the material in this series, as it came from one of his sermons and used by permission. In my humble opinion, Dr. McComas is one of the greatest preachers of the twentieth century and I feel it a great privilege to count him as a personal friend.
Now the New Jerusalem as we see it from the inside. (continued)
Then he said “And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.” Can you imagine no need of veils, curtains, ceremonies, rites, or altars? No need for expiation, atonement, covenants, arks or intermediaries.
We will live in the very presence of God. God will be present as He was in the Garden of Eden. This will be paradise restored and regained. We shall see Him face to face.
Face to face with Christ, my Saviour,
Face to face – what will it be,
When with rapture I behold Him,
Jesus Christ who died for me.
Only faintly now I see Him,
With the darkling veil between,
But a blessed day is coming,
When His glory shall be seen.
What rejoicing in His presence,
When are banished grief and pain;
When the crooked ways are straightened,
And the dark things shall be plain.
Face to face – oh, blissful moment!
Face to face – to see and know,
Face to face with my Redeemer,
Jesus Christ who loves me so.
Face to face I shall behold Him,
Far beyond the starry sky;
Face to face in all His glory,
I shall see Him by and by.
