Matt 8:1-4 – “When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2. And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. 4. And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them.â€?
Forgotten – - What a sad word.  It is a word that contains tears, sorrow, heartaches and disappointments.
The forgotten man – the missionary.
We make much of the call of God. We rejoice when our people are called to mission work. We make preparation for them to go to the field. But then somehow we are not very good at remembering our missionaries once they are gone to he field.
Far to often, the missionary is a forgotten person. Missionaries need to be remembered in prayer.   We need to pray for them daily. On distant lonely fields they stand in need of God’s help. Our prayers can bring the blessings and help they need. We need to pray for them by name as much as possible.
Then missionaries need support. We should never be slow in giving financial supporting to our missionaries. God has promised to bless the work of those who send His missionaries to the field.
Missionaries need understanding. I feel this is most important. Right here we can correct a misconception that many have about missionaries. Sometimes they are looked upon as some kind of strange person who is unable to find a place of service any other place.
Listen, missionaries are special people called of God and need to be understood and remembered.
