Jer. 5:25 – “Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.” 2 Chron 7:14 – “If my people , which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.â€?

There are four things in this verse that will do us good to consider.

1. The Problem.

It is an age old problem.  It started in the Garden of Eden.  It is man’s oldest problem.  It is the number one problem.  It is the world’s greatest problem.  It is the sin problem – your sin problem.

Your sin.  Not your neighbors, friend, husbands or wives – but YOUR sin.  The Bible says over and over – your sin. Num. 32:23 – “. . . be sure your sin will find you out.” If this were the only verse used this morning, it ought to revolutionize the thinking of everyone. “be sure YOUR sin will find YOU out.”

Be honest with yourself, if you have sin in your life.  It will find you out in your character.  It will find you out in your conduct.  It will find you out in your countenance.  It will find you out in your children.  It will find you out in your conscience. “be sure YOUR sin will find YOU out.” Notice how the Bible deals with your sin. Isa. 1:18 – “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” The problem is with YOUR sins.  Isaiah said – Isa. 59:1, 2 – “Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:   2. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

You see, the problem is the sin problem for the saved or the lost.  The big problem is to get people to face their sin.  If you are lost, it will be YOUR sins you face at the judgment.  Jesus said – “. . . I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins.”

The problem is your sins.  That is the greatest problem.  That is the social problem.  That is the economic problem.   That is the national problem.  That is the political problem.  That is the domestic problem.  Men never find the solution until they know the problem.
