Acts 2:17 – “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”
It is essential to obtain Holy visions. Solomon said in Prov. 29:18 – “Where there is no vision, the people perish: . .â€? Now a vision is the unseen made real. This is why we should envision our church as the exciting place. Can I challenge you to catch the vision with me?
Paul was a man of visions because he was filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you know that when the Holy Spirit dwells within the believer, He will impress him, teach him, lead him, and make the unseen and the eternal things real to him? It is the Holy Spirit that brings mental pictures to the child of God and lets him envision God’s will for his life.
It is the Holy Spirit that lets us see far off. Many do not see beyond their temporal and personal wants, the kitchen, the walls of their houses, or the line fences of their own property. While we are living in luxury and ease, dozens are dying right in our own communities without the gospel light.
When the unseen things are made real, our responsibilities will be keenly felt, and we will be stirred into activity. When we become farsighted we will see and feel the need of others. Can you envision the auditorium of your church full and with extra chairs to accommodate the crowd? Not just for numbers, but every person represents a soul that is going to live somewhere forever.
Think on this – a vision presupposes a commission because commission follows vision. It was so with the Old Testament Prophets. It was so with Paul. Commission results in going forth, in spreading the gospel and that will lead to the salvation of souls. Oh that we might get excited and catch the vision and become holy laborers.
