Acts 2:17 – “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”

It is essential to power.  The reason we are so powerless is that we are not filled with the Holy Spirit as we should be.  Christ said, “Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost is come upon you.”

Now the Holy Ghost is a person.  He is equal with God in essence and attributes, for He is God.  And His indwelling empowers each believer.  When He dwells in the believer, there is power, for He enables the Christian to do exactly that which He wants him to do.

Many lives are barren and powerless until they come to the point of realizing the need of being filled with the Holy Spirit.  Then they become mighty and fruitful in their service for God in a way they never dreamed of. This is what is needed in our day of deadness, indifference, and powerlessness.
